Explore the dried willow selection
Our shop includes the varieties below. You can check current options and place your order through each variety's Etsy listing. Colors vary naturally, so use the listing's photographs and description when making your choice.
- Whissender dried basket willow
- Kaat dried basket willow
- Basfordiana dried basketry willow
- Noire de Villaine dried basket willow
You can also explore our 3–6 foot willow branch listing. That listing includes different material options. For weaving, check that you have selected the appropriate dried option; a fresh-cut option is not the same product.
Check the bundle against your project
A basket pattern may call for different sizes for its base, uprights, sides and border. Match the material to those requirements rather than choosing by color alone.
- Length: Compare the rod length with your pattern or intended piece.
- Thickness: Check the description, and ask if you need a particular diameter.
- Quantity: Confirm how the bundle is measured and what the selected option includes.
- Condition: Choose dried weaving material, not live propagation stock.
Allow time to prepare your willow
Dried willow is stored craft material, not necessarily ready to bend straight from the package. Preparation for weaving includes soaking and mellowing where required. Timing depends on the material and conditions, so follow the directions for your purchase or ask us before you begin.
Is this willow for planting?
This page is for dried weaving rods. If you want to grow willow, explore our live plants and cuttings. For a construction or habitat restoration project, use our restoration inquiry page so we can discuss the stock your plans specify.
What if I need material for a workshop?
Send the project, quantities and date you need it. Confirm availability and timing before placing an order. Current prices and purchase options are shown in our Etsy shop.
